Employee onboarding is the process of introducing an employee to the company through a series of tasks that take place over several months. This process is designed to allow the employee to understand their role and responsibilities and progress through the organization.<\/p>\n

What is the difference between orientation and onboarding?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

<\/p>\n

Orientation is typically a one-time event and generally takes place during the first few weeks of employment. Although the onboarding process includes an orientation, onboarding takes place over several months as new hires are introduced to and integrated into the organization. Orientation is generally handled by human resources, while the employee\u2019s direct supervisor is largely responsible for onboarding.<\/p>\n
